Steve Endacott introduces AI Steve, aiming to redefine political engagement through advanced technology.

Steve Endacott, an entrepreneur hailing from southern England, has introduced AI Steve—a groundbreaking artificial intelligence set to contest in the upcoming UK general election.

Endacott believes that to have AI Steve occupy a seat in the House of Commons as the representative for Brighton Pavilion will mark a significant step towards using technology to enhance democratic engagement.

Bridging the gap: Technology and constituency engagement

Steve Endacott’s motivation stems from a profound disillusionment with traditional political parties, which he perceives as increasingly disconnected from the broader UK population.

“I am setting up my own party after growing disillusioned with how much the others are out of contact with the UK population,” Endacott explained in a LinkedIn post .

His vision for AI Steve is to utilize advanced technology to directly connect with and represent the views of constituents.

“I will be merely a vessel for my AI alter-ego,” Endacott explained to The Independent , highlighting his commitment to letting AI Steve guide policy decisions based on direct feedback from constituents.

On AI Steve’s dedicated campaign website, potential supporters are invited to join a team of “creators” tasked with shaping policies. Through an interactive “Speak to AI Steve” option, users provide feedback and suggestions, which AI Steve processes to formulate its platform.

Endacott emphasizes the accessibility of this engagement, stating, “You don’t have to know anything

Policies based on majority support

AI Steve’s platform gives utmost importance to democratic decision-making. Only policies receiving more than 50% support from constituents will be adopted, ensuring that AI Steve’s agenda truly reflects the collective will of Brighton and Hove residents.

“AI Steve was created to ensure that the people of Brighton and Hove had 24/7 access to leave opinions and create policies,” reads the campaign website , underscoring its mission to foster continuous and inclusive civic participation.

Endacott plans for AI Steve to physically attend Parliament if elected, where it will vote on policies guided by direct feedback received through its AI platform.

Endacott’s background and environmental concerns

Endacott identifies himself as someone from a working-class background who “understands the value of money” and recognizes that his business success has made him relatively wealthy. He is also “deeply concerned” about environmental issues.
